Glass Schemes design and fabricate bespoke glass art to enhance and enchant.

Eleanor has been creating glass artworks since 2005, when she began creating stained glass windows for churches. She continues to be fascinated by the symbolism in Christian art, and the way in which glass paint can be used to manipulate the light on glass.

In 2008 Eleanor was awarded a QEST scholarship to investigate her craft further at The University of Sunderland, to undertake an MA in architectural glass, which then developed into an MPhil looking specifically at the use of natural imagery in multi-faith spaces.

In 2010 Eleanors glass work ‘Transcendence’ was selected for the 2010 Glass Biennale.

Since then Eleanor has completed numerous commissions for churches in the UK and abroad, as well as private’s commissions for domestic situations. Please have a look at some examples of these.

How does commissioning work?

It depends on the project, but I like to email or have a chat initially about what is required. If it is for a specific place then a site visit will be made if possible, to measure and discuss costings and practicalities. If you have a brief then I can respond to that, if not we can discuss ideas or themes you have in mind for the design of your glass work. A design fee is required to start work on designing the glass artwork which once approved will then be fabricated and installed.
